For anyone curious the beachscape pic above is of the beautiful Opoutere beach just north of Onemana and the more well known Whangamata in the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand’s North Island. 

This photo was taken in late March 2009 on a weekend and yes there was no one else on the beach. One of the fantastic thing about life in the Waikato is how near you are to such stunning coastlines.

[Edit: I have had a request to not share Opoutere with the my other 2 readers – but Mum and Dad know about it anyway. In any case it’s in the giude books now and there were about 100 people on the beach on Easter sunday..]
