Media watch on the public interest and the weatherson case

by Jake Quinn

Jeremy Rose talks to Regan Cunliffe and TVNZ’s bureau chief  (whos name temporarily alludes me) on Radio NZ’s Media Watch today. It’s an interesting listen. The link is here.

Topic: The recent media coverage of the Clayton Weatherston case and whether or not it was justifiable to present the most graphic and disturbing aspects of the case by a simple reference to the ‘public interest’. TVNZ say yes, Regan says no. This topic was discussed here just last week.
